Kendra Nelson brings a diverse and interdisciplinary background to the field of kinesiology, combining over 15 years of clinical expertise in physical therapy with more than a decade of experience in higher education. She earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT), a master's degree in Corporate Communications, and a bachelor's degree in journalism—an academic path that reflects her unique ability to bridge science, communication, and patient care.
Her clinical practice has focused on sports physical therapy, working extensively with collegiate athletes, as well as providing care in inpatient hospital settings and private practice environments. This hands-on experience deeply informs her teaching and mentoring, particularly in areas related to injury prevention, rehabilitation, biomechanics, and human performance.
For more than 10 years, Kendra has taught at the university level, delivering coursework in biology, kinesiology, and other health-related fields. She is passionate about helping students connect scientific principles with real-world applications in healthcare, fitness, and wellness.
