With the Redlands Promise, U of R is transforming the way students view access to a private, personalized, and high-quality education. With initiatives designed to place these factors well within reach, the Redlands Promise helps students focus on achieving their goals without financial barriers.
Full-tuition guarantee for low- and middle-income students
For first-year student and percussionist Aya Hashi ’28, the Redlands Promise has been a game-changer, making her four-year college journey attainable.
“I never thought I would be able to afford a private school education at the second oldest, nationally accredited Conservatory of Music in California, but thanks to the Redlands Promise, I am able to pursue my dream of becoming a music educator,” Hashi said. “The University of Redlands Full-tuition guarantee helps low- and middle-income students with a high school GPA of 3.5 or higher by covering the cost of their tuition for their first year. The Redlands Promise made a personalized education affordable, accessible, and achievable.”
In-state tuition guarantee for California students
California-based students can also benefit from the in-state tuition guarantee, which caps tuition at $17,500 (for the 2025-26 school year) for students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. This is the average cost of local UC’s and Redlands guarantees students will graduate in four years or less.
“I knew that I wanted to stay in-state for college but was having a hard time deciding between going to a UC or attending a private university,” Johnston Center for Integrative Studies student and California native Kate Woodhall ’28 said. “Thanks to the Redlands Promise, I could receive a personalized education unique to me with small class sizes, courses taught by expert faculty, and endless opportunities for the same price as a state school.”
Out-of-state guarantee
As an out-of-state admitted high school senior, you pay no more than $25k in tuition in 25-26 with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
“Growing up in Maryland, I knew I wanted to go out of state for college to explore different parts of the country and explore who I was,” Abigail Gordon ’24 said about her decision to attend college out-of-state. “Luckily, Redlands had the size, price, and sense of adventure that I was looking for being beautifully situated between the mountains and the coast. So, without ever having stepped foot on campus, I committed to four years at Redlands and it's been the most rewarding leap of faith I've ever taken.”
Four-year graduation guarantee
In addition to affordability, the Redlands Promise also ensures students, like first-generation senior Jocelyn Torres ’25, stay on track with the four-year graduation guarantee.
“While many universities offer impressive features, the average time it takes students to graduate with their bachelor’s degree is six years; however, at University of Redlands, students are guaranteed to graduate in four years or less,” Torres said. “That means you’re getting a more impactful education, spending less time paying for school, and will be ready to jump into your career sooner.”
